Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Exploring the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Some of the children have been exploring the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, an international observance kept annually in January. It is called an octave (a period of time lasting eight days) and was begun in 1908 by Fr Paul Wattson, cofounder of the Graymoor Franciscan Friars.
The theme for this year has been taken from the book of Exodus 15:6 – “Your right hand, O Lord, glorious in power” – and resources for the week have been prepared by members of different churches in the Caribbean.
